Dr. Zigler is a licensed psychologist who grew up in the Phoenix area and has been practicing in the Valley since 1998. She specializes in the evaluation of children ages five and up as well as young adults. Dr. Zigler conducts all of the testing herself, without the use of students or psychometricians to ensure a thorough understanding of your child.
Background:
Dr. Zigler completed her undergraduate degree at Occidental College in Los Angeles, where she majored in Psycho-Biology. While at Occidental College she received Distinction in her Comprehensive Exams, was accepted into the Psi Chi National Honor Society, and was awarded a Richter Fellowship (a six week study grant).
Following college, Dr. Zigler came back to Arizona, and completed a year long work-study program with Behavioral Neurologist Drake Duane, M.D., prior to attending graduate school.
Dr. Zigler completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, with a specialty in Neuropsychology at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, followed by an internship in Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Arizona. Dr. Zigler went on to complete post-doctoral fellowships in Neuropsychology at UCLA and Barrow Neurological Institute.
Dr. Zigler became a staff Neuropsychologist at Barrow Neurological Institute/St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in August of 1998 providing clinical services to children and adults as well as supervising post-doctoral fellows. She left the hospital in 2001 following the arrival of her twin daughters.
Dr. Zigler began her private practice in 2001 and also worked for Rehab Without Walls, an outpatient brain injury rehabilitation program (until 2005).
Dr. Zigler has always enjoyed working with children and during both college and graduate school worked as a religious school teacher and youth advisor.
